Play Review: CSUF’s production of ‘Tallgrass Gothic’ is scary for very human and timely reasons

The rest of the cast is admirable, a standout being Laura’s best friend Mary (played by Tina A. Burkhalter) who brings much-needed comedic relief and outside insight to Laura’s many conflicts.

“Anna in the Tropics” is poised, authentic and relevant

"Miguel S. Torres and Tina A. Burkhalter play Santiago and Ofelia, respectively, the owners of the cigar factory. Together, Torres and Burkhalter bring a loving and charismatic energy as the play’s parental figures. Some of their moments together are laced with both tension and tenderness as their character’s struggle to make ends meet while sticking to tradition."

Theater Review: The Merry Wives of Windsor

"The energy shared between Mistress Page, played by Tina A. Burkhalter, M.F.A. acting student, and Mistress Ford, played by Tamara Veres-Vailant, B.F.A. theatre arts major, was frenetic yet joyous to watch. The timing between the two ladies allowed a playful back-and-forth that did not feel contrived as they allowed their husbands to join in their trickery against Falstaff. The play relied on lightning-fast comic timing between the actors and carefully choreographed motions to further the plot."

Emotional play “Stop Kiss” shines a light on discrimination

"Burkhalter gave an emotional performance, moving the audience to tears and other times, making jaws drop. The actor’s performance had audience members on the edge of their seats while watching “Stop Kiss,” leaving the audience with a powerful message."
